    The Arrival

    A welcome composed in silence

As you step out of the terminal at Şanlıurfa, you are received by the professional team led by Halil Acar — Director of VIP Transfers & Transportation at Sumera Expeditions — each member in a tailored black fleece embroidered with the Sumera mark, already waiting beside a polished black Mercedes V-Class. Bags are handled with quiet precision, hot towels are offered, and the door closes on the world outside. Inside, chilled artisan lemonade and sparkling water rest on a walnut tray between you, and the old city slips past the tinted glass at golden hour.

    The Discovery

    Göbeklitepe, before the world wakes

Long before the first tour bus reaches the gate, you walk the wooden boardwalk of Göbeklitepe with a senior archaeologist — twelve-thousand-year-old T-pillars rising out of the mist as the eastern sky turns rose. The site is yours. The questions are yours. The silence between them is the rarest luxury of all.

    • Senior archaeologist as your guide
    • Sister-site visit to Karahantepe

    The Bazaar

    Copper, light and conversation

By late morning you descend into the vaulted arcades of the Bakırcılar Çarşısı — the centuries-old coppersmiths' bazaar. Shafts of dusty sunlight catch a thousand hand-hammered pots and lanterns, and a third-generation master places a warm copper coffee pot into your hands. Tea is poured, stories are exchanged, and whatever you choose travels home with you, carefully wrapped.

    • Private introduction to a master coppersmith
    • Specially coordinated visits, subject to official permission
    • Hand-engraved Sumera monogram available
    • Insured packing and shipping arranged

    Chapter V

    The Table

An evening lit by stone and candle

The evening opens on a terrace above the old city — copper plates of muhammara and slow-cooked lamb, crystal glasses catching the last light, a Sumera sommelier pairing local Öküzgözü with the mezze. Later, a private courtyard transforms into a sıra gecesi: bağlama and darbuka, tulip glasses of tea, künefe pulled warm from the copper, and an evening of Anatolian song shared only with you. The minarets glow one by one.

    • Private rooftop or courtyard setting
    • Chef-curated Anatolian tasting menu
    • Private Şanlıurfa sıra gecesi with traditional musicians
    • Wine pairing from boutique Turkish vineyards

    Chapter VI

    The Farewell

Water poured, so you may return

On the morning of departure, the farewell is personally orchestrated by Halil Acar — Director of VIP Transfers & Transportation at Sumera Expeditions — and his professional team. They arrive at the door before the city wakes, bags are stowed with quiet precision, and a thermos of Turkish coffee waits in the cabin. As the V-Class pulls away, a hand-hammered copper ewer is tipped onto the cobblestones behind you — the oldest Anatolian blessing for a traveller, water poured so the journey flows on, and so you find your way back to us.

    • Private door-to-airside transfer personally orchestrated by Halil Acar, Director of VIP Transfers & Transportation at Sumera Expeditions
    • Hosted by the same professional team that received you on arrival
    • Hand-hammered copper su dökme farewell ritual
    • Travel hamper with coffee, lokum and dried fruits
    • Fast-track airport assistance on request
